From the given data,

Initial moment of inertia =ml2

Initial magnetic moment =polestrength×2l

Their ratios is =ml2(polestrength).........(1)

After cutting the magnet, pole strength remains the same.

Final moment of inertia =m2(l2)2=m8

Pole strength

=polestrength×2(l2)

=polestrength×l

Their ratios =ml8(polestrength)............(2)

Ratios of magnetic moment of two parts is

=ml8(polestrength)ml2(polestrength)

=14
