Formula for focal length is:
1f=(μ2μ11)(1R11R2)
Here, 1f=+5D,μ2=1.5,μ1=1
Then,
+5=(0.5)(1R11R2)(i)f=100cm=1mμ2=1.5
Let μ1=x.
11=(1.5x1)(1R11R2)1=(1.5x1)(1R11R2)(ii)
Dividing (i) by (ii),
5=0.5(1.5x1)7.5x5=0.5x=1.37
