A ball is dropped from a balloon going up at a speed of 10 m/s .If balloon was at height of 75m at that time of dropping the ball.how long will the ball take to reach the ground ?

We know that:

s = ut + (1/2)at2

here

s = 75 m

u = 10m/s

a = 10 m/s2

so,

75 = 10t + 5t²

or

-5t² + 10t = 75

so, by solving the above quadratic equation further, we get

t = 5sec.
