Let the height of the tower is $xm$high and casts a shadow of length$100m$ , at the same time when a $12m$ high pole casts a shadow of length$16m$.

Now, $x:12::100:16$

Product of extremes $=$product of means

$x\times 16=12\times 100$

$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow x=\frac{12\times 100}{16} \\ =\frac{1200}{16} \\ =75m \end{gathered}$$

Hence, the height of the tower is $75m$.
