Question

A train starting from a railway station moves with uniform accrleration and attains a speed of 40km hr-1 in 10 minutes. Find its acceleration.

Open in App
Solution

Initial velocity (u) = 0

Final velocity (v)=40km/hr

= 40 multiple by 5/18 m/s

= 100/9

=11.11 m/s

Time (t) = 10 min

= 10 multiple with 60 s

= 600 s

Therefore

Acceleration = final velocity — initially velocity / time taken

=11.11 — 0 / 600 m/s sq

= 0.0185 m/s sq
