A train starts from station A with a uniform acceleration a1 for some distance and then goes with uniform retardation a2 for some more distance to come to rest at station B. The distance between stations A and B is 4 km and the train takes 1/15 h to complete this journey. If accelerations are
in km per minute, find value of 1a1+1a2.

S1=u1t1+12a1t21u=0 and a=vt
S1=12V1t1...(i) V1=V2
S2=u2t212a2t22
=12v2t2
S=S1+S2=12V(t1+t2)
t1=t2
S=12V(2t1)
4000=12×v×h×60
v=33.33m/s.
Now =1a1+1a2=t1v1+t2v1=7.2
