A train takes 2 h to reach station B from station A,and then 3 h to return from station B to station A.The distance between the two stations is 200 km.Find:(i)the average speed,(ii) the average velocity of the train.

Average speed = fraction numerator t o t a l space d i s tan c e over denominator t o t a l space t i m e end fraction

(It includes both the went and the return of the train)

Average speed = fraction numerator 200 plus 200 over denominator 2 plus 3 end fraction equals 400 over 5



Avg Speed= 80 km/hr

Velocity =fraction numerator d i s p l a c e m e n t over denominator t i m e end fraction.

( though it comes back to it's original position it do not have distance between them)

:- =0

Avg Velocity =0.
