A train takes 2 hours less for a journey of 300 km, if its speed is increased by 5 km/h from its usual speed. Find the usual speed of the train.

Distance = 300 km
Let speed be v

Let time taken usually be t
We know, Speed=DistanceTime

Usual Speed is v=300t..........(1)
When speed is increased v+5=300t2.........(2)

From (1) and (2)

v+5=300300v2(v+5)(3002v)=300v300v2v2+150010v=300v2v2+10v1500=0v=25,30

v cannot be negative so v=25 km/h
