Solution

The correct option is B 72 kmph
First part of journey:
Speed, v1=30 km/h
Distance, s1=30 km
Time taken is:
t1=s1v1
t1=30 km30 km/h
t1=1 h

Second part of journey:

Distance, s2=40 km
Let the speed be v2 and time taken be t2
s2=v2t2
v2t2=40 km

Full journey:
Total distance travelled:
d=d1+d2
d=30 km+40 km
d=70 km

Total time taken:
t=t1+t2
t=1+t2
Average speed:
v=dt
45=701+t2
t2=2545 h

But v2t2=40 km
v2×2545 h=40 km
v2=72 km/h
