A trapezium has an area of 570 cm2. The height of the trapezium is 5 cm and the larger parallel side is twice in length of the smaller parallel side. Choose the correct option.
Length of the larger parallel side is 152 cm
Length of the smaller parallel side is 76 cm
Let ′h′ be the height of a trapezium, ′a′ be the length of the smaller parallel side and then ′2a′ will be the length of the larger parallel side.
Area of trapezium is given by = 12× sum of parallel sides × distance between parallel sides
=12×(a+2a)×h
=12×3a×h
⇒570=15a2 [∵h=5 cm]
⇒a=570×215=76 cm
⇒Length of larger parallel side, 2a=2×76=152 cm
