Solution

The correct option is B

13m/s

Step 1. Given data :

Wave , y=1(1+x)2 at t=0

y=11+(1+x)2 at t=3sec

Step 2. Find the velocity of the wave is:

Att=0

y=11+x2 ---- (i)

Att=3sec,

y=11+(1+x)2 ---- (ii)

The general form of traveling wave is given as below

y=11+(x±vt)2

comparing equation (ii)and above general form of wave ,at t=3sec

vt=1

v=1tv=13m/sec

Hence ,option (B) is correct .
