A tricycle was sold at a gain of 16 %. Had it been sold for ₹100 more the gain would have been 20% . find c p of the tricycle

Let the cost price be Rs x
There is a difference of Rs100 between the two so,
20% - 16% = Rs 100
(20x/100)-(16x/100)=100
4x/100 =100
4x =10000
x = Rs2500

check
16% profit = 116/100x2500=2900rs
20% profit = 120/100x2500=3000rs.
3000-2900=100rs.
