A trip of Saurashtra was organised by the school in a mini bus for 28 students and in a regular bus for 45 students. Each student contributed Rs 500. During the trip, the expenses were : food bill Rs 9,855, entry fees Rs 3,285, mini bus charge Rs 5,432, the regular bus charge Rs 8,730 and boarding charge Rs 6,132. Was there any money left in excess or was there a shortfall of it? How much?

The correct option is A Rs 3,066
Contribution by each students=Rs. 500

Total number of students=28+45=73

Hence total collection of money=500×73=Rs. 36500

Total expenses=9855+3285+5432+8730+6132=Rs. 33434

Since collection is greater then expenses, so money left in excess is rupees:
=3650033434=Rs. 3066
