Question

A truck is moving with an acceleration of a0=2m/s2. A block of mass 10 kg is kept on the truck. If the coefficient of friction between block and truck is 0.50.
(A) What will be the friction force acting on the block by the truck.
(B) is the block sliding over the truck. (g=10m/s2).

Solution

Here, Maximum value of static friction =μmg=50N
And, pseudo force acting on block =ma=20N in direction opposite to a
Ans(a)-
Static friction will balance pseudo force so friction force =20N
Ans(b) -
Since maximum value of static friction is higher than force acting on it, so block will not slide
