Floral parts:
An angiosperm flower consists of four floral parts arranged from outside to inside as follows:-
*Calyx
*Corolla
*Androecium
*Gynoecium
Calyx
Calyx is the outermost whorl of the flower and the members are called sepals which serve as a protection to the flower in the bud stage.
Corolla
The whorl after the calyx is the corolla that consists of petals. These are usually brightly coloured to attract insects for pollination.
Androecium
The next whorl is androecium which is composed of stamens. Stamens represent the male reproductive part of the flower. Each stamen consists of an anther and filament.
Gynoecium
Gynoecium is the female reproductive whorl of the flower and is the innermost whorl consisting of carpels, each of which has stigma, style and ovary.
