Solution

The correct option is D Exothecium, endothecium and tapetum
The anther wall comprises four layers: Epidermis, Endothecium, Middle layers and Tapetum. The epidermis is followed by a single layer of endothecium, 2-3 middle layers and a single layer of tapetum. Tapetum is the innermost layer of the anther wall which completely surrounds the sporogenous tissue. Sometimes epidermal cells develop fibrous thickenings and become thick walled. The epidermis is then called exothecium. Hence, typical anther wall possesses Exothecium, Endothecium, and Tapetum.
So, the correct answer is D.
