A uniform disc of mass $m$, radius $R$ is placed on a smooth horizontal surface. If we apply a horizontal force $F$ at $P$ as shown in the fig. If $F=4N$, $m=1kg$, $R=1m$ and $r=1/2m$ then, find the acceleration of the CM. $\left(inm/s^2\right)$

Since the surface is smooth, there is no frictional force to cause the rotation of the disc. Hence the force causes linear acceleration only.

$F=m{A}_{CM}$

$⟹A_{CM}=\frac{4}{1}=4m/s^2$
