The correct option is A The center of mass will move along a straight line.
Force of center of mass is acting along axis so during motion of rod motion of center of mass is along y-axis.
Initially there is no horizontal velocity of center of mass so at any time there is no motion of center of mass along y axis.
So Path of center of mass will be straight line.
