The correct option is A 3.125 Ω
We know that resistance, R length of wire.
Since the wire of resistance 50 Ω is cut into four equal parts, the resistance of each piece will be 504 = 12.5 Ω.
When these new four resistances are connected in parallel, the effective resistance (Reff) of the combination is given by:
1Reff=112.5+112.5+112.5+112.5=412.5
Reff=12.54=3.125 Ω.
