A vector →A makes an angle of 200 and →B makes an angle of 1100 with the X-axis. The magnitudes of these vectors are 3 m and 4 m respectively. Find the resultant.
As show in figure
Angle between →A and →B=1100−200=900
→|A| = 3 m and →|B| = 4 m
Resultant,
R= √A2+B2+2AB cos θ
= √32+42+23.4 cos 900
=5m
Let β the angle between →R and →A
β=tan−1(4 sin 9003+4 cos 900)
= tan−143
=tan−1 (1.333)
= 530
∴ Resultant vector makes angle
= 530+200
= 730 with x -axis.
