A vector A makes an angle of 200 and B makes an angle of 1100 with the X-axis. The magnitudes of these vectors are 3 m and 4 m respectively. Find the resultant.

As show in figure

Angle between A and B=1100200=900
|A| = 3 m and |B| = 4 m

Resultant,

R= A2+B2+2AB cos θ

= 32+42+23.4 cos 900

=5m

Let β the angle between R and A

β=tan1(4 sin 9003+4 cos 900)

= tan143

=tan1 (1.333)

= 530

Resultant vector makes angle

= 530+200

= 730 with x -axis.
