Solution

The correct option is B 8.64 km
Distance covered by the vehicle =43.2 km
Amount of petrol =3L
Distance covered using 1L of petrol =43.2÷3
When we divide 4 by 3, the quotient is 1 and the remainder is 1.
Now we reach the ones position. So, we bring 3 down.
We divide 13 by 3. The quotient is 4 and the remainder is 1.
Now we reach the tenth position. So, we bring 2 down and put the decimal in the quotient.
When we divide 12by 3, the quotient comes out to be 4 at the tenths position and the remainder as 0.
43.2÷3=14.4 km
Distance covered using 0.6L of petrol =14.4×0.6
=8.64 km
