The correct option is B 3.5 m
Let AB be the flag-staff and BC be the tower.
Let BC = x.
InΔBCD,
tan30=BCCD
13=xCD
CD=3x ...(i)
Now, inΔACD,
tan60=ACDC
3=7+x3x [AC=AB+BC,from (i)]
3x=7+x
2x=7
x=72=3.5m
So, the height of the tower is 3.5 m.
Hence, the correct answer is option (b).
