Assume that the process takes place at constant temperature and the pressure inside the vessel depends on time as P=P0 e(rtV0) , where P0 and V0 are initial pressure and volume of the vessel respectively. The correct option is D Temperature of the gas
Given, relation between pressure and time
P=P0 e(rtV0) .....(1)
When half of the gas is removed, P reduces to P02
P=P02 .....(2)
[because temperature and volume of vessel are constant, pressure Pn (no. of moles of gas)]
Substituting (2) in (1), we get
P02=P0ertV0
ln2=rtV0
t=V0×ln2r
Hence, we only require volume of the vessel and the pumping rate.
Thus, both options (a) and (d) are correct answers.
