A village has a population of 4000, requires 150 litres water per head per day. It has a tank measuring 20 m , 15 m , 6 m. How many days for the water is sufficient enough once the tank is made full.

volume of the tank = l×b×h
= 20 m × 15 m × 6 m
= 1800 m3 [1 m3= 1000 litres]
so, volume of tank = 1800000 litres
[1.5 Mark]
Volume of water consumed by 1 person in 1 day = 150 litre.
Total volume of water consumed in a day by total population = 150 × 4000
[0.5 Mark]
Required number of days = volume of tanktotal volume consumed in 1 day
= 1800000150 × 4000
= 3 days
