$\therefore$ Number of ice cubes that can be fitted

$=\frac{\text{Volume of water container}}{\text{Volume of each cube}}$

$=\frac{40000{\text{cm}}^3}{125{\text{cm}}^3}$

$=320\text{ice cubes}$

Thus, the container can hold 320 ice cubes.
