Solution

The correct option is C 140,800 minutes

A water pipe is cylindrical in shape.

Rate of water flow = 6 mi/hr = 31,680 ft/hr

So, volume of water flowing through pipe in 1 hour is
=πr2h=π×(10)2×31,680
=(3.168×106)π ft3

Volume of cylindrical tank is
=πr2h=π×(15)2×6
=(1350)π ft3

Let t be the time taken to fill the cylindrical tank = Volume of cylindrical tankVolume of water flowing through the pipe in 1 hr

3.168×1061350=70403 hours
=70403×60
=140,800 minutes
