Step 1: Given Data,

For wave 1,

Frequency = 100 Hz.

Velocity = 3 ms-1.

For wave 2,

Time period = 8 ms.

Step 2: Solution,

For 1st wave,

v=fλλ(wavelength)=vf=3100=0.03mor3cm.

The time period of the 2nd wave is 8 ms,

So frequency is 1Timeperiod=18ms=10008=125Hz.

So velocity is,

v=fλv=125×0.03=125×3100=154ms-1

Now ratio of their velocity, 1st by 2nd =30.03×125=3×1003×125=100125=45

Hence the correct option is (B) 154ms-1,45
