Question

A weightless balloon is filled with water. What will be its apparent weight when weighed in water?

Open in App
Solution

When the weightless balloon is filled with water its total weight becomes equal to the weight of the water inside it. When this water filled balloon is placed inside water, it displaces equal amount of water which is inside it. So the buoyant force is same that of weight of water filled balloon. So its apparent weight becomes zero.
