(b) What will be the effect of temperature on rate of a reaction?

Solution

(a) Reaction rate, the speed at which a chemical reaction proceeds It is often expressed in terms of either the concentration (amount per unit volume) of a product that is formed in a unit of time or the concentration of a reactant that is consumed in a unit of time.
(b) Increasing the temperature increases reaction rate because of the disproportionately large increase in the number of high-energy collisions. It is only these collisions (possessing at least the activation energy for the reaction) which result in a reaction.
