Solution

(a) ‘Vapour Density of carbon dioxide is 22’:

  • Vapour density is the density of gas with respect to hydrogen gas.
  • It can be defined as mass of certain quantity of a substance is divided by mass of same quantity of hydrogen.
  • That way the mass of CO2 fuel line is 22 instances heavier than that of hydrogen.

(b) Atomic weight of chlorine=35.5

  • The molecular weight of chlorine (Cl2)=35.5×2

=71

  • Vapour density of chlorine=Molecularwt.2

=712=35.5

  • The vapour density of chlorine is 35.5.
