(a) What does the slope of a displacement-time graph represent?
(b) Can displacement-time sketch be parallel to the displacement axis? Give reason to support your answer.
(a) The slope of a displacement-time graph represents its velocity.
(b) The displacement-time graph can never be parallel to the displacement axis because if it happens, it would mean that the displacement of the body in a specified direction is continuously increasing without taking any time. In other words, we can say that the velocity of body is infinite which is not possible.
