a) What is a flame?

A flame is the visible, gaseous part of a fire. The substance which vaporise during burning give flames, It is caused by a highly exothermic reaction taking place in a thin zone.

A hot glowing body of gas that generates fire is called flame. There is 3 zone of flame. these are
- outermost zone.
- middle zone.
- innermost zone.

What type of substances on burning?
The combustible substance burns to produce the flame like kerosene oil, LPG, CNG, biogas, etc...

(b) What is the difference between the burning of a candle and the burning of a fuel like coal?

The candle burns with a flame but coal does not burn with a flame.

The coal is a carbon product and its burning is harmful to the environment but the candle is made from wax its burning is not as much harm as the burning of coal.
