Magnet: A piece of iron, steel, etc, that can attract and pick up other metal objects is called a Magnet.

(b)

There are the following types of magnets

  1. Permanent magnet
  2. Temporary magnet
  3. Electromagnets

(C)

  1. Permanent Magnet: These magnets do not lose their magnetic property once they are magnetized.
  2. Temporary magnet: These magnets can be magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. once the magnetic field is removed they lose their property.
  3. Electromagnets: These consist of a coil of wire wound on a metal core made of iron. once the current is supplied then a magnetic field is generated around the wire.
