a) Nutrients provide us energy and help in growth and repair of our body. If these nutrients are not taken in optimum quantities for a longer time it leads to deficiency. Diseases that occur due to deficiency of nutrients is known as deficiency disease.
b) Deficiency of protein: Stunted growth, discolouration of hair and diarrhoea.
Deficiency of carbohydrates: Weak body and low energy.
Deficiency of fats: Weak body, increase in hair fall and dry skin.
