Solution

a)Solution Definition: A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. A solution may exist in any phase .
Solution Examples: An example of a solid solution is brass. An example of a liquid solution is aqueous hydrochloric acid (HCl in water). An example of a gaseous solution is air.

b)A suspension is a heterogeneous system in which the size of solute particle is large (more than1000 nm). As a result, the solute particles do not dissolve in the solvent and settle down at the bottom in the solvent. Therefore the solute particles in a suspension can be easily seen with a naked eye. Example: a mixture of sand in water is a suspension.

c)A colloid is a heterogeneous system in which one substance is dispersed (dispersed phase) as very fine particles in another substance called dispersion medium. It is the intermediate system between a solution and a suspension. The size of colloidal particles is between 1 nm and 1000 nm. The colloidal particles remain suspended in the medium. Example milk, ink etc
