(a) Noise pollution is considered as the environmental pollution caused in the environment by the excess level of noise through many sources. Street traffic, trains rolling by, construction workers, and even some of the consumer products we use are all sources of noise pollution. Noise pollution is defined as an unwanted or disturbing sound that interferes with normal activities. Noise is best described as any unwanted sound.
Some sources of noise pollution are as follows:
→ Televisions and transistors running at high volumes
→ Loudspeakers and crackers
→ Horns of buses, cars and trucks
→ Home appliances such as the mixer, desert cooler, etc.
(b) Noise pollution is harmful to humans in many ways. Constant exposure to noise pollution can create many health related problems; like insomnia, hypertension and may even lead to loss of hearing.
(c) We can reduce noise pollution by following below mentioned measures:
(d) By planting, the tree along the road will reduce noise pollution caused by traffic. These trees would absorb the noise and will not let it reach the residents of an area.
