(a) What do you meant by 'streamlined shape'? Name an object which usually has a streamlined shape.
(b) Explain why, objects moving in fluids should have streamlined shape.
(a) A streamlined body is the one which is pointed at the ends and broad at the middle. It helps to lower the friction drag between a fluid, like air and water, and an object moving through that fluid.
Car and aeroplane usually have a streamlined shape.
(b) The frictional force in a fluid depends on the shape of the body. By giving objects a special shape, that is streamlined shape, the force of friction acting on it can be minimised. Hence, it becomes easier for the body to move through the fluid.
