(a) Monatomic ions are composed of a single atom whereas polyatomic ions are composed of two or more atoms per ion.
Examples: Monoatomic Ion - Na+ ,Mg+2,Cl- ,O2- etc.
Polyatomic Ion - Ammonium ion (NH4+ ), hydroxide
ion (OH )etc.
(b) Al3+ and Fe3+
