(a) Sound having frequency greater then 20,000 hz is called ultrasound. Ultrasound cannot be heard by human beings like ordinary sound.

(b) Uses of ultrasound -

(1) To check flaws and cracks in metal.

(2) In ultrasonography.

(3) In echocardiography.
