Solution

(a) Wilt :(of a plant, leaf, or flower) to droop, to become limp through heat, loss of water, or disease.

(b)

During noon , the rays of sun fall directly on the leaves. This causes intense heating up of the plant, the plant raises it's rate of transpiration to cool off .

When this happens, the rate of transpiration exceeds the rate of water. The lowering of water reserve in the plant as it compounds over time results in cells loosing their state of turgidity . All plant cells trurn flaccid resulting in wilting.
