(a) What term is used to denote the change of velocity with time ?

(b) Give one word which means the same as 'moving with a negative acceleration'.

(c) The displacement of a moving object in a given interval of time is zero. Would the distance travelled by the object also be zero ? Give reason for your answer.

(a ) Acceleration.

(b) Retardation or Deacceleration.

(c) The displacement of a moving object in a given interval is zero i.e., the object comes back to its initial position in the given time (displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and final position of an object). The distance, in this case, will not be zero because the distance is the total length of the path traveled by the body. If the object comes back to its initial position, the length of the path traveled is not zero.
