a ) i. Resistor ii. Diode b) A resistor 'resists' the flow of current in a circuit in accordance with Ohms law. Through a resistance, conductivity is possible in both the directions whereas a diode allows the flow of current only in one direction. It can pass current only when it is forward biased.
