Let's the required whole number = x

and it is incresed by 7 and multiplied by 5 = 5(x + 7)

then it is equals to 45
= 5(x + 7) = 45 (1 mark)

$5 (x + 7) = 45 T r a n s p o s e t h e 5 o n R H S \Rightarrow x + 7 = \frac{45}{5} = 9 (1 m a r k) N o w, t r a n s p o s e t h e 7 o n R H S \Rightarrow x = 9 - 7 = 2 (1 m a r k)$

So, the required number = 2
