(a) Polystyrene and plastic packaging used for protecting food cause environmental pollution as these are non-biodegradable substances. These polybags cause harm to aquatic life, choke the water pipes etc.

(b) Ahmad Khan came up with a remedy for efficient use of plastic waste. He developed Polyblend, a fine powder of recycled modified plastic. This mixture is mixed with bitumen which is used to make roads. This increased the road life by three times and also solved the problem of plastic pollution.
