(a) The amount of oxygen present in high altitude such as mountains is lower than that in plains. Therefore, to meet the oxygen requirement, mountaineers carry oxygen with them. (1 mark)

(b) Iodine test enables us to detect the presence of starch in leaves. If starch is present in leaves, the yellow-brown colour of iodine solution changes to blue-black colour. (1 mark)
