According to Hooke's law

Modules of elasticity , E=WA×Ll

where , L = original length of the wire

A = cross- sectional area of the wire

Elongation ,Δ=WLE

On either side of the wire, tension is W and length is l2

Δl=WL2AE=WL2AE=l2

Total elongation in the wire =l2+l2=l
