Question

a wire of resistance 18 ohm is bent to form an equilateral triangle. The resistance across any two vertices of the triangle is(in ohm)

Solution

Consider the wire has uniform radius.

That would make each arm of the equilateral triangle have 18/3 = 6 ohm resistance.

Now between two vertices, there is a single 6
resistor in parallel with a series connection of two 6 ohm
resistor.

Therefore 12
Ω
in parallel with 6ohm w
hich is equal
=12*6/(12+6)=72/18 =4 ohm
