a)Solar cooker works on the principle of conversion of solar energy into heat energy. Then this heat is used to cook the food.
Solar cooker is a device made up of cooking vessels, glass sheet, mirror, a blackened aluminum tray, wooden box etc and is used to cook meals with the help of solar energy without the use of any conventional fuel.
The rays from the sun enters the box through the glass sheet. The black surface of the box absorbs the sun rays and is not able to go out through its glass surface and remains trapped..Since the box is air- tight, the temperature inside the solar cooker rises and the food gets cooked.
b) Black color is best in absorbing heat. This property is used in the solar cooker where sunlight beats on the device and due to its black color more heat is absorbed.
