Solution

The value of monthly income is required for answer to be the exact amount of saving. For this purpose, I assume the missing date I.e. income is 20,000 Indian Rupees.

Then, money spent on food = 0.3 x 20000 = 6000

Money left = 12000
Money spent on clothing etc. = 0.4 x 12000 = 4800

Money left = 12000 - 4800 = 7200
money saved = 0.5 x 7200 = 3600 INR

Note, x% = x/100
So, 30% = 30/100 = 0.3 and so on.
