ABO blood group system has three alleles, A, B and O. Any person has two alleles of these three in any combinations. In the above case, women with blood group O marries a man with blood group AB.
Hence, the parents have the following genotypes:
Mother - I^O I^O, Father- I^A I^B
Using the Punnet square technique, the possible blood groups in the progeny are as given:
| I^O | I^O |
I^A | I^A I^O | I^A I^O |
I^B | I^B I^O | I^B I^O |
Hence, the possible genotypes are I^A I^O and I^B I^O
Therefore possible phenotypes are- Blood Group A and Blood group B.
